By accessing Terminal Adventure, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

Terminal Adventure is an AI-powered Choose Your Own Adventure story platform using Google's Gemini AI.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old. Currently invite-only - accounts created manually by administrators.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
  • Share account credentials
  • Use automated tools or bots
  • Attempt reverse engineering

4. AI-Generated Content

Stories are AI-generated and provided "as-is" for entertainment. Content may contain inaccuracies or unsuitable material. Exercise discretion.

5. Usage Limits

  • Per-User: 50 stories/hour
  • Global Daily: 500 stories/day
  • Per-IP: 100 requests/hour

6. Service Availability

We don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

7. Account Termination

We may suspend/terminate accounts for Terms violations, abusive behavior, or excessive use.

8. Limitation of Liability

SERVICE PROVIDED "AS IS". We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

PRIVACY POLICY

TL;DR: We collect email, story data, usage stats. We use Google Firebase for storage. We don't sell your data. You can request deletion anytime.

1. Information We Collect

Account: Email, password (hashed), display name

Story Data: Characters, choices, AI-generated stories, achievements

Usage: Timestamps, IP (hashed), usage statistics, error logs

2. How We Use It

  • Authenticate & manage your account
  • Generate personalized AI stories
  • Save & retrieve your progress
  • Prevent abuse & enforce rate limits
  • Improve service quality

3. Data Storage

Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (Firebase Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions)

Location: us-central1 region (United States)

Security: Encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest

4. Third-Party Sharing

We share with: Google Cloud/Firebase (infrastructure), Vertex AI (story generation)

We DON'T: Sell data, share with advertisers, or use stories for AI training

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: While account is active
  • Stories: Until you delete them
  • Usage logs: 90 days
  • Rate limit data: 7 days

6. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

  • Access your data
  • Correct your data
  • Delete your account
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of analytics

7. Cookies

We use authentication cookies (essential), session cookies, and preference storage (settings).

8. Children's Privacy

Service not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
